PURPOSE:To prevent unseemliness of a photograph caused by a camera-shake phenomenon and the roughness of grain by executing zoom photographing attaching importance to either an optical zoom or a pseudo zoom according to film sensitivity information and object luminance information. CONSTITUTION:A zoom extension ratio decision means 101 detects either object luminance information inputted from a photometry means 102 or film sensitivity information from a film sensitivity information input means 103. The ratio between the zoom extension by an optical zoom means 105 and the zoom extension by a pseudo zoom means 106 for the total zoom extension set in a zoom quantity setting means 104 is decided based on the said information. For example, in case of a slow film and in case where the object luminance is low, the ratio of zoom extension by the means 106 is made larger and in case of a fast film and in case where the luminance is high, the ratio of the zoom quantity by the means 105 is made larger. Thus, the unseemliness of the photograph caused by the camera-shake phenomenon and the roughness of grain can be prevented.
