What is proposed is a device for the testing and sorting of coins of different types, which has sensors for recording coin parameters which are connected to an evaluation and control unit. Furthermore, there is provided a sorting unit which is provided with flaps and which allocates the coins according to their type to different coin channels. The control unit contains a programmable memory which stores a freely selectable allocation of coins of different types to individual coin channels. In the sorting unit, at least three flaps are arranged one behind the other or next to one another and a slide is connected to the flaps, so that at least six coin channels are formed, the control unit activating the flaps in dependence on the recorded coin and on the stored allocation. <IMAGE>
