PURPOSE:To facilitate positioning by arranging a nip roller which carries the aperture card so that the driving direction makes a prescribed cross angle with the abutting reference side on a carriage in a positioning mechanism for a microfilm to surely abut two sides of an aperture card against a reference side. CONSTITUTION:The aperture card (AP card) is carried by a carrying roller along guides 28 and 29 and held between the nip parts of a driving roller 16 on the carriage. The driving roller 16 is mounted so that the driving direction makes an angle N<=45 deg. with the abutting reference guide 27 corresponding to the upper side L of the AP card. If the AP card separates from the nip of the roller, the card is brought into contact with the guide 27 with the driving force of the roller 16 and its upper side is abutted a right side abutting reference guide 26 along the guide 27, so that positioning can be facilitated.
