The security device comprises a first elongated member 20 passing through the door frame and into the surrounding structure and a second elongated member 10 mounted within the door and generally co-axially with the said first member; and a co-operating pin and socket arrangement 11,21 with co-operating contoured surfaces carried at the opposed ends of the first and second members whereby the members engage one another as the closure member pivots into the closed position and secure the hinge edge of the closure member against lateral movement with respect to the frame.
