The device according to the invention can be releasably attached to any horizontal injection moulding machine and enables the mould manufacturer to provide the injection moulder with complete moulds for the series production of workpieces without having to expect that the injection moulder will send the moulds back to him, after the preparation of rejects, for the purpose of modification. The device enables the mould manufacturer also to carry out the retouching of moulds, which is customarily carried out on a retouching press, on the device. For the retouching and modification work, the mould can remain in the operating position on the mounting plate of the device. In the use of the device, the mould may thus remain in a clamped position on the injection moulding machine for the subsequent operations: retouching, optimising, injection moulding of samples, modifying and completing the mould for the series production of workpieces. The device according to the invention is time-saving and cost-saving to a significant degree compared with the customary process in which retouching processes are necessary and the sending of the moulds back and forth between the injection moulder and mould manufacturer is customary. <IMAGE>
