An insert 2 with an inner, valve-like closure 4 for the sealed passage of a fuel filler tube is inserted into a filler nozzle for the fuel tank of a motor vehicle, a filter 3 which absorbs gaseous fuel being inserted replaceably in an annular interspace. The insert 2 can also be replaced together with the filter. Gaseous hydrocarbons which form inside the fuel tank are absorbed by the filter 3 during refuelling or during the continuous expansion in the tank. <IMAGE>
