<p>A flavor dispensing device (29, 33) is usable on machines for dispensing frozen foods, such as ice cream. The flavor dispensing device (29, 33) is suitable to be retrofitted to an existing food dispensing machine (21) below the dispensing spigot (25). The device includes a syrup stem (131) protruding inwardly into the food/flavor mixing chamber (117). This stem (131) may have both an opening in the central portion (133) and the perimeter portion (157) of the mixing chamber (117), resulting in syrup being deposited in the center and the perimeter of the ice cream flow. A rotor (135) in the chamber provides mixing, and the rotor (135) is tangentially driven and has a central aperture (145) therein. A water flush duct (165) is provided to clean syrup and food from the various lines and ducts. The flavor dispensing device is readily removable for cleaning and servicing.</p> |
