PURPOSE:To execute the special reproduction of a stable CLV disk without receiving the influence of a residual phase error by controlling a gain switching means so as to have a low loop gain at the time of the special reproduction of the CLV disk. CONSTITUTION:In the disk (CLV disk) in which a video signal is recorded on the disk so as to have a constant linear velocity, a variable gain circuit 13 is constituted of an arithmetic amplifier 20, resistances R1, R2, R3, capacitors C1, C2, ad and a switch S and controls a gain so as to lower the gain of the circuit at the time of the execution of the special reproduction and raise it at the time except it. At the time of executing the special reproduction of still, slow or the like in the CLV disk by the use of a digital picture memory, the generation of the bending of a screen caused by a phase synchronizing step-out or decolorizion is eliminated and the influence of the fluctuation of the characteristic of individual video disk players is not received.
