PURPOSE:To prevent the impression of an overvoltage, by making a semiconductor switching element, connected to a resistor in series, conductive temporarily when a DC/DC converter is started. CONSTITUTION:A DC/DC converter 1A is constituted of an input filter 2, an overvoltage suppression device 15, connected to the input filter 2 in parallel, a power converting unit 3 and an output filter 5, connected in parallel to the power converting unit 3. A DC power source 11, in which a breaker 12 and a voltage source 13 are connected in series, is connected to said input filter 2 in parallel to impress a DC voltage E. A load resistor 14 is provided in parallel to the output filter 4. Said suppression circuit 15 is constituted of a series circuit of a resistor 16, having a predetermined resistance value (h), and the parallel body of a transistor 17 and a diode 18. According to this constitution, the transistor 17, connected in series to the resistor 16, is made conductive temporarily and the impression of an overvoltage may be prevented.
