PURPOSE:To attain the location of a faulty point by using information representing the disabled collection of fault information as the fault information when no fault information can be collected. CONSTITUTION:A center 100 applies transmission/reception of a command to multiplexers 101,102 being destinations to set the connection at first and the fault information can be collected after the end of the setting of the connection. When the fault information is collected normally, the fault location is located based on the information. If no fault information can be collected conversely, it is considered that a fault takes place at the setting of connection or at the collection of fault information after that, and it is recognized by the center 100 in a form of timeout of a reply monitor time of each level. Thus, if no fault information can he collected, the fault location is located based on the result of combination of timeouts detected by the center 100. |
