PURPOSE:To reduce restricting force by developing small cast flash and to stabilize characteristic of a strip by forming the shape of a side weir for one pair of cooling drums continuously cast metal strip to flat plate part pressing the drum side face and projecting part partitioning molten metal surface in pouring basin part. CONSTITUTION:The shape of the side weirs 2a, 2b for one pair of the cooling drums 1a, 1b continuously cast the metal strip has construction combining of the flat plate parts A1, A2 pressing the drum side faces and the projecting parts B1, B2 partitioning the molten metal surface in the pouring basin part. By this method, the cast flash developing at the gap between the side faces of the cooling drums 1a, 1b and the inner faces of the side weirs 2a, 2b is made to small. Therefore, the restricting force of the cast flash to shrinkage of solidified shell is reduced and unequal thickness of the strip and breakdown are eliminated and drawing-out of the strip is made to smooth and the characteristic of the metal strip can be stabilized. |
