PURPOSE:To bring cooling water to be in a low pressure and a small amount and to improve the cooling efficiency by installing a thin plate facing to the peripheral surface of a work roll and uniformly adjusting a gap between the peripheral surface and the plate and a water discharging block in a peripheral position side where a rolled stock is pressed by the work rolls, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A cooling pad unit 2 is positioned on the peripheral surface of a work roll 1 and the central part of a thin plate 3 is set to have a prescribed gap E against the surface by a setscrew 7 and a pull screw 13. Then, upper and lower supporting blocks 5 are adjusted to have the gap E by a pull screw 8 and a setscrew 14. End parts of the plates 3 fixed to a water supplying block 9 and a water discharging block 10 are adjusted to have the gap E. Further, a seal 16 is fixed to bear a proper pressing force by an adjusting screw 19. The work roll 1 provided with cooling pad unit 2 is assembled in a rolling mill by a roll changing device. Therefore, cooling water is supplied from upper and lower supplying blocks 9, is guided to the gap E, and is discharged from a discharge hole 10 in the rolling side of a rolled stock 32 in the work roll 1. |
