PURPOSE:To prepare the trimer and tetramer of n-butene in high yield and selectively, by polymerizing n-butene in the presence of a perfluororesin-like high polymer as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:n-Butene is polymerized in the presence of a high polymer containing repeating structural units expressed by formulaI[n is 0, 1 or 2; R is F or 1- 10C perfluoroalkyl;[X]n are -O(CF2)m-, -OCF2CFY- (Y is trifluomethyl) or -OCFYCF2-; m is an integer 1-10]or formula II at 60-200 deg.C, preferably 80- 150 deg.C, to give the trimer and tetramer of the n-butene. USE:A raw material for alkylbenzenes used in detergents, raw material for sizing agents, raw material for ink or solvents of insecticides, etc. |
