PURPOSE:To obtain the titled conjugate fiber, consisting of a polyester core component having a specific melting point and a polyester sheath component, having a lower melting point than that of the core component and containing a crystallization accelerator, having specific thermal characteristics, bondable at low temperatures in a short time and suitable for producing nonwoven fabrics, etc. CONSTITUTION:The aimed conjugate fiber, obtained by conjugate spinning a core component consisting of a polyester (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) having >=200 deg.C melting point [(Tm)2] and a sheath component consisting of a low-melting polyester (e.g. copolyester consisting of terephthalic acid in an amount of 70-90mol.% based on an acid component and isophthalic acid in an amount of 30-10mol.% based on the acid component and hexamethylene glycol in an amount of >=90mol.% based on a glycol component), having <=150 deg.C melting point [(Tm)1] and containing a crystallization accelerator blended therewith and having >=2 exothermic peaks present in a temperature decreasing curve (C) after melting by using a differential scanning type calorimeter, temperatures (Tcd) of the exothermic peaks and calorific value (DELTAHcd) satisfying formulas I-IV.
