PURPOSE:To perform an efficient recording by using properly and successively different speed continuous recording modes and making low speed continuous recording mode and high speed continuous recording mode parts in one video floppy disk. CONSTITUTION:A recording timing pulse is outputted to a recording circuit 2 from a control circuit 4 based on an input signal from terminals 5 and 6. By this recording timing pulse, a low speed mode delay circuit (6 fields/sec) 9 or a high speed mode delay circuit (30 fields/sec) 10 is selected by a switch 7 to generate a pulse of either of the two kinds of separations. A video signal from a camera is always inputted to an input terminal 1 at 60 fields/sec, and when this recording timing pulse is sent to the recording circuit 2, the video signal by one field at that time is recorded to the video floppy disk by a recording mechanism 3. By such constituting, the efficient recording is feasible.
