To assist with leakage prevention the pump impeller 15 has integral therewith a sheath 19 for surrounding rotor shaft 16, the sheath extending outside of pumping chamber 14. Then chamber 14 is provided with a duct 28 which leads to the inlet duct 25 to provide drainage means when the pump is not in use. An outer end of the inlet duct 25 is at a lower level than the suction inlet 18; and the ends of the inlet duct 25 and delivery volute 24 are shaped with a curvature or sphericity 30 and having a threaded zone 31. <IMAGE> |
