PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a large storage capacity and to improve the reliability by sending an address retrieval frame specifying a terminal equipment to a loop transmission line and adding information only to a station with the terminal equipment connected and transferring the other information as it is. CONSTITUTION:The station ST1 receiving a data transmission request from a terminal equipment A1 to a terminal equipment C1 confirms the fact that the terminal equipment C1 is not connected to itself and sends an address retrieval frame (c) all together as a multi-address frame. The frame (c) is received at first by a station ST2, which sends it as it is which similar confirmation. Since the terminal equipment C1 is connected to a station ST3, the station ST3 sends a frame (d) being the addition of an address ST3 and the C1 to the data part of the frame (c). A station ST4 relays the frame (d) as it is in the same case with the ST2 and sends the frame (d). The ST 1 checks the content of the circulated frame to recognize that the terminal equipment C1 is connected to the station ST3.
