PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the productivity of welded metal bellows and at increasing the fatigue rupture strength of welded metal bellows by forming the inner and outer peripheries of a thin metal disc in a smooth curve shape, and thereafter by carrying out abut-welding between the inner and outer peripheries of the disc and those of another disc. CONSTITUTION:A thine metal disc 22-1 having a center hole 22-2 is pressed by dies 30a, 30b which is formed so as to have the centers of curvatures of parts in the vicinity of the inner and outer peripheries of the disc, which are positioned on the opposite sides of the disc, so as to obtain a bellows unit having smooth curved surfaces in the vicinity of the inner and outer peripheries of the disc. A group of two thus formed bellows units are secured to special purpose holders 24a, 24b so as to make the inner peripheries thereof abut against each other, and thus abutting parts are subjected to TIG welding by using a torch 25. A plurality of thus formed one-wave parts of bellows are prepared, and are fitted one by one on a holder 24c so as to make the outer peripheries of the bellows parts abut against each other. Further, thus abutting parts are subjected to TIG welding by use of the torch 25.
