PURPOSE:To make it possible to dispense with a driving source such as a motor and to simplify the structure of the titled air conditioner by a method wherein the opening and closing of a damper are made by making use of the thermal expansion of a fluid. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner is provided with a heat exchanger 4, a fan 5 and the damper 6 which opens and closes the heat exchanger 4. It performs both cooling and heating operations by circulating a coolant and a heat medium through the heat exchanger 4, respectively, and in this case, the cooling capacity thereof is controlled by the opening and closing of the damper 6 which is controlled by a transmission mechanism 20 adopted to transmit to the damper 6 the operation of a temperature detector 10 comprising a thermo-expansive fluid sealed therein and an operation section operative in response to the expansion of the fluid. |
