Snow traps are particularly important on smooth sheet-metal roofs. They are fastened on the upright seam via two clamping jaws and exhibit a trap plate. At least one of the two clamping jaws is angled off, in its portion remote from the seam, such that the two clamping-jaw portions which clamp the seam run essentially parallel to each other, whereas the ends of the two portions remote from the seam rest against each other. <IMAGE>
