PURPOSE:To make fine monitorial monitoring on the phenomena of the movement of an injection cylinder in dwelling process possible by a method wherein the speed of forward travel of the injection cylinder is displayed and at the same time its speed of backward travel during its forward action is also displayed. CONSTITUTION:The forward travel and backward travel of an injection cylinder are sent in the forms of phase A pulse signals and of phase B pulse signals by means of an phase A-B system rotary encoder 11. Signals (a) sent from the rotary encoder 11 are converted at an UP/DOWN signal converter 12 in direction-of-travel signals (b) and speed-of-travel signals on the sides of direction of travel (c) and (d), all of which are brought in a signal selector 15 and a data processing unit 16 in the form of two-position signals allowing to discriminate between the forward travel and the backward travel of the injection cylinder. After that, the data processing unit 16 performs data collection and memory in time sequence by means of data collection command (g) and displays characteristic curves on a data display 18 by means of data display command (h) sent from a machine controller 17.
