PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a solid image pickup element caused by static electricity, by shortcircuiting both terminals of the solid image pickup element at an unused time becoming the non-mount state with respect to an electronic endoscopic apparatus main body. CONSTITUTION:In such a case that an electric connector 14 is in a non-mounting state with respect to an electronic endoscopic apparatus main body, a slider 204 is pushed by a leaf spring 208 and all of pins 206 are brought into contact with a metal plate 207 and all of the contacts of a contact part 20 are closed. Therefore, all of the signal wires led out from a solid image pickup element 2 are shortcircuited and the potential difference between both terminals of the solid image pickup element 2 is eliminated. Therefore, the damage accident of the solid image pickup element can be prevent. Next, the electric connector 14 is inserted in the receptacle of the electronic endoscopic apparatus main body 160 and, when a knob 201 is rotated, a cam 205 pushes the slider 204 and all of the pins 206 becomes the non-contact state with respect to the metal plate 207 but are brought into contact with pins 209 to complete the connection of the connector and the receptacle.
