PURPOSE:To improve surface shape and shape characteristic of a product by periodically changing running velocity of a belt at the time of producing a metal strip by cooling and solidifying molten metal on the running belt. CONSTITUTION:Multiple heat resistant blocks 3 connecting with chain, etc., around the belt 1 are arranged and shifted as synchronizing with the belt 1. The molten metal 8 is supplied into pouring basin part 4 on the belt 1 and the solidified shell 10 is formed after cooling and solidifying and is rolled with pressurizing rolls 12, to make the metal strip coil 14. Then, the running velocity of the belt 1 is periodically changed and a first and second velocities v1, v2 and cycle T are set. By this method, even if the solidified material 15 is developed at inner wall face of the fixed weir 6, it is detached at the constant cycle T. Therefore, as the solidified material 15 is detached before growing to large piece, the development of cold shut is eliminated and the surface shape and the shape characteristic of the product are improved. |
