PURPOSE:To contrive increase in efficiency of a memory by transferring video signal data to a signal side driving circuit from a field memory in the first halt of one horizontal signal period and from a line memory in the latter half. CONSTITUTION:Video data is always written in the line memory 102. In the first half of one horizontal signal period, video data in a former field, which is stored in the field memory 103, is read, and is transferred to the signal side driving circuit. In the latter half, video data written in the line memory are sequentially read and are transferred to the signal side driving circuit 107 and are written into the field memory 103. A scanning side driving circuit 108 generates data in the order of even lines and odd lines in an odd field, and in the order of the odd lines and even lines in an even field, and videos by video data in the former field which have been stored in the field memory 103 and video data of the current field which has been stored in the line memory can be displayed in a regular scanning position on a display part 109. Thus, the memories are set efficient.
