PURPOSE:To obtain a powdery material for superconductors of good superconductive properties by adding an organic dibasic acid to an aqueous solution containing lanthanoid metal salts, alkaline earth metal salts and copper salts to effect quantitative precipitation of the organic acid salts of these metals. CONSTITUTION:Nitrates, acetates or chlorides of metal elements constituting superconductors such as lanthanoid metals (Y), alkaline earth metals (Ba) and copper are dissolved in water or a dilute acid. A dibasic acid such as succinic acid, glutaric acid or maleic acid or a hydroxyacid such as tartaric acid is added to the aqueous solution to effect quantitative precipitation of the constituting elements. The precipitate is filtered, dried and burned in air or an oxygen atmosphere at 800-1,200 deg.C to form a powder. Thus, a powdery material for superconductors of excellent superconductive properties is obtained in a uniform particle size without deviation of element composition from the superconductor. |
