PURPOSE:To prevent a stain by toner scattered from a developing device by providing adjacently to the developing device a photoreceptor cooling device blowing air to the surface of a photoreceptor device and sucking air from the developing device side. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate transfer body 41 is heated by the heating means 411a of a transfer device 4 to raise the temperature of the photoreceptor. A draft duct 7 and a discharging fan 8 are provided covering the front and rear of the developing device 3 to generate an air flow as shown by large arrow; air is blown to the surface of the photoreceptor 1 to perform cooling and the air is sucked even from the side of the developing device 3 to prevent toner scattering. In another way, a similar cooling device may be provided between the transfer device 4 and a cleaning device 5 for cooling. Therefore, the heating of a developer at the developing device and cleaning device is relieved and the flocculating and caking of a developer are prevented to maintain excellent developing and cleaning performance.
