PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a display device using an organic electroluminescent element reducing non-emission defect in the organic electroluminescent element with reducing emission life, and to provide the display device. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the display device and the display device, a blue organic electroluminescent element 12B, a red organic electroluminescent element 12R, and a green organic electroluminescent element 12G having organic layers including emission layers are provided. Each film thickness of an organic layer 14B of the organic electroluminescent element 12B, an organic layer 14R of the organic electroluminescent element 12R and an organic layer 14G of the organic electroluminescent element 12G is set thick in color order of low brightness, namely, in order for the organic layers 14B, 14R and 14G. At least the emission layers of the organic layers 14B, 14R and 14G of each organic EL element 12B, 12R and 12G are deposited on a substrate 11 in order of blue, red and green.
