The present invention relates to a device which can essentially be fitted to industrial piping machines with a free arm in order to ensure the automatic advance of the binding and to cut it at the end of the piping cycle. By way of example, it can be used in the making of shoes for closed-upper piping. The placing of such a device on a piping machine allows easy and rapid work. Its purchase price is, furthermore, quite low. According to one embodiment of the invention the system is electropneumatic. It is composed of a plate 1 on which is fixed a comb 2, pneumatic thrust cylinders 3, 4, 5 and a piping device 6. The assembly is held on the machine by a pressure thrust cylinder 7. The supply to the thrust cylinders 3, 4, 5, 7 takes place via the air inlet already provided on this type of machine. <IMAGE>
