PURPOSE:To satisfactorily remove a residual toner, and also, to execute cleaning over a long period of time by setting a particle of a carrier contained in a magnetic brush cleaning part, to a prescribed diameter. CONSTITUTION:When an average particle diameter of a cleaning carrier used for a magnetic brush cleaning part is made smaller than an average particle diameter of a carrier of a two-component developer, each cleaning agent comes into contact closely with each other. Also, this tendency is not varied greatly even of the concentration of a residual toner allowed to adhere to the cleaning agent increases, the cleaning part becomes a larger electric field than a developing part, and the residual toner comes to be shifted easily to the cleaning part side. Also, since the particle diameter of the cleaning carrier is small, when the residual toner is transferred to a collecting roller, the cleaning carrier and the residual toner are separated easily, and the cleaning carrier offered to cleaning becomes a satisfactory state. As a result, the residual toner is removed satisfactorily and cleaning can be executed stably over a long period of time. |
