PHOTORECEPTIVE MEMBER FOR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHY

PURPOSE:To prevent exfoliation of a photoconductive layer by specifying the outside diameter of a drum-shaped base to a specific value or below. CONSTITUTION:The photoreceptive member consists of the drum-shaped base and the photoconductive layer which is formed on the base and contains an amorphous material essentially consisting of Si. The outside diameter of the above-mentioned drum is specified to <=70mm. Then, the exfoliation of the photoconductive layer is prevented and the generation of image defects such as voids is obviated. The entire part of the device is reduced in size by the miniaturization of the base.
