A hazard warning device comprises a base portion (6), upwardly from which an integral display portion (8) extends, the display portion being generally flat and triangular. Secured to the underside of the base portion (6), by studs is a supporting assembly (12) comprising a central portion (14) and two outwardly extending supporting portions in the form of feet (16a, 16b). Secured generally to a central portion of the surface (17) of one foot (16a), and extending generally towards the central portion (14), is a flexible arm (20), said arm being provided at its inner end with a hook-like engagement formation (22). Secured to the under surface (17) of the foot (16b) is a second arm (24), which is secured flush with the surface (17), and extends towards the central portion of the supporting assembly. The arm (20) is so secured to the foot (16a) as to lie, at rest, at a small angle to the underside (17), but is sufficiently flexible that when the warning device is placed on the ground. the arm (20) moves into an operative position and the engagement portion (22) enters the aperture (26), to retain the warning device in a stable position on the ground. However simply by lifting the device from the ground, the arm (20) moves to its inoperative position, releasing the engagement portion (22) from the aperture (26), allowing the feet (16a and 16b) to be folded away. <IMAGE> |
