The side pieces of the cover (7-10), after the cover (1) has been fitted on the packing tray, converge downwards from the cover top part (2) to retain the cover over the tray. One of the side pieces (9) is pre-fixed in two corner parts (14,15) of the cover with adjacent, opposing side pieces (8,10). The remaining fourth side piece (7) is releasably hooked in the opposing side pieces (8,10). This produces a simple and effective hooking of the cover on the tray after the cover has been fitted and the fourth side piece (7) has had its free end edges (11,12) locked to form corner parts (13,16). The end edges (11,12) of the fourth side piece (7) has a hook formation (21) which insertes for locking purposes into an aperture (24) in the end edges (22,23) of the adjacent side pieces (8,10). The locking function in the aperture (24) is produced by the effort of the side piece (7) to be folded outwards because of the inherent tension of the cardboard material. |
