PURPOSE:To print the image of a normal printing area regardless of the size of the image area of an input image signal, by constituting the title circuit so that a gating is applied to the image data after signal processing by the gate pulse generated from the gate circuit, which uses a vertical line counter, a lateral line counter and a shift register, provided in front of a line head. CONSTITUTION:A vertical line counter 9 and a lateral line counter 10 respectively count the number of data of the vertical line of an image and those of the lateral line thereof, and vertical and lateral gate pulse setting vertical and lateral printing areas are generated by a decoder using shift register 30-31 and sent to the gate circuit provided immediately in front of a thermal line head 18 to apply gating to image data. A decoding value can be arbitrarily sent to the shift registers in the decoder by a microcomputer. Gating is applied to the image data read from a line memory 2 to be subjected to signal processing immediately before the thermal head 18 by a gate pulse to constitute a printing area. Further, this gate pulse is made settable to an arbitrary length by the decoder using the shift registers to make it possible to constitute an arbitrary printing area. |
