PURPOSE:To obtain a nonshrinking curable resin free of a volume shrinkage during curing, excellent in storage stability, etc., and suited as a molding material, an adhesive or the like, by performing the radical addition polymerization of a specified undecane derivative with hydrogen sulfide or a dithiol. CONSTITUTION:The radical addition polymerization of 3,9-diacryl-1,5,7,11- tetraoxaspiro[5.5]undecane of formula I with hydrogen sulfide or a dithiol of the formula: HS-R-SH (wherein R is an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group), e.g., 1,2-ethanedithiol, is performed. In this way, the purpose nonshrinking curable resin represented by formula II or III (wherein n and m are positive integers) and having a number-average MW of 1,000-100,000 can be obtained. The compound of formula I can be obtained by transesterifying 2 equivalents of 2-allyl-1,3-propanediol with 1 equivalent of tetraalkyl orthocarbonate.
