摘要

NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula. USE:An antipyretic, analgesic, antiphlogistics and producing intermediate for alpha-(4-isobutylphenyl)propionic acid. PREPARATION:Isobutylbenzene is blended with potassium periodate in acetic anhydride while stirring and a mixture of acetic anhydride with concentrated sulfuric acid is added dropwise thereto to afford a di(4-isobutylphenyl)iodonium salt, to which ethylene gas is then introduced in a solvent in the presence of a catalyst such as Pd and base (e.g. potassium acetate) to provide the aimed compound expressed by the formula.
