METHOD & DEVICE OF LUBRICATING SYSTEM FOR SEWING MACHINES

A lubrication system uses fibers fed into a sewing machine housing to build lubricating pads for moving parts. A predetermined amount of absorbent and felt-forming fibers (44) is introduced into the housing (24) of a running sewing machine. These fibers form pads (46) in the pathways of the moving parts (25-33) to be impregnated with lubricating oils. As the pads formed by the fibers are held in place by the housing walls, and form a tight fit around the moving parts, they give an effective lubrication system for all types of sewing machine, without allowing the ingress of dust which would give an abrasive effect.
