PURPOSE:To improve the portability by arranging polarizing spectacles on the outside of a polarizing plate array in which plural polarizing plates whose polarization axes or light absorption axes are different alternately are arrayed on one outside of a liquid crystal cell. CONSTITUTION:On the opposed surfaces of the upper and the lower substrates 1, 2 the upper electrode 3, the lower electrode 4 and liquid crystal oriented films 5, 6 are formed, the substrates 1, 2 are sealed by a sealing material 7 and a liquid crystal 8 is enclosed, by which a liquid crystal cell 10 is constituted. On the outside surface of the cell 10, a polarizing plate 20 consisting of the upper and the lower polarizing plates 11, 12 is arranged. Also, on the upper face of the polarizing plate 11, a polarizing plate array 30 having polarizing plates 21, 22, 23 and 24 whose polarization axes or light absorption axes are different alternately is placed. Moreover, on the outside surface of the array 30, polarizing spectacles 40 having the left polarizing plate 31 and the right polarizing plate 32 are placed. In such a way, the left eye use and the right eye use information is shifted alternately and displayed on the cell 10, the polarization axis or the light absorption axis of the left eye use and the right eye use information is changed by the array 30, and by the spectacles 40, the left eye use information and the right eye use information can be confirmed visibly by only the left eye and the right eye, respectively.
