Electrical DC voltage generators, especially dynamos for cycles, are normally alternators which produce energy by means of rotating magnets. Because of the poor efficiency of such generators, the invention provides an improved device, in the case of which stationary magnets (4-7) are used. The polarity of the magnets is aligned parallel to the drive shaft of the generator. A rotor (9, 10) which is in the form of a disc and is mounted on the drive shaft (8) is located between the poles of the magnets. This rotor (9, 10) is constructed in the form of a copper-coated Pertinax disc having distinct conductor tracks. The voltage which is produced is picked off directly via carbon brushes (13, 14) which run on the rotor. The invention is particularly suitable for cycle dynamos or ship generators. <IMAGE>
