PURPOSE:To obtain effective elevation of temp. and to complete desiliconizing and dephosphorizing treatment for a short time by blowing oxygen only or the oxygen and pretreating agent into molten iron in a vessel from a tuyere arranged at bottom part or side part of the vessel. CONSTITUTION:In the pretreatment of the molten iron 4, the tuyere 14 is arranged at the bottom part or the side part of the vessel, such as mixer car 2, and the oxygen 16 only introduced from a hose 15, or the oxygen together with a flux 18, such as CaO, is blown into the molten iron 4 through the tuyere 14. Porous brick in place of the tuyere 14 may be arranged. By this method, problems of low reaction efficiency, raise up of unit consumption of the oxygen, extension of treating time, etc., are swept away and cost of the molten iron is reduced.
