Sludge scraper for removal of surface sludge and/or bottom sludge, especially for a water treatment facility. The scraper consists of one or more pairs of retractable wings for which tow lines (31, 32) can be used to move them from the inlet end of the treatment facility (1) to its outlet end during an active sludge separation or move them back to the inlet end in a return movement. During the active movement, the wings are extended to form a straight line with one another at right angles to the conveying movement with their edges possibly in close contact with the walls of the treatment facility. During the return movement, the wings are retracted so they can be returned to their start position without any significant effects from the surface sludge or bottom sludge. The scraper wings have floats (27, 29) or sinkers to hold them at the desired level in relation to the surface sludge (8) or bottom sludge (9). The wings can be moved suitably with the help of tow lines (31, 32), which are accessible from the outside (via 19, 20) for manual or mechanical movement continually or intermittently.<IMAGE> |
