PURPOSE:To contrive to improve critical temperature and critical electric current density in an oxide superconductor containing a rare earth element, having a perovskite type structure, by partially replacing the rare earth element with Al, In or Ga. CONSTITUTION:In an oxide superconductor having a perovskite structure of a wide sense such as deficient perovskite, e.g. ABa2Cu3O7-delta type (A is Y, Yb or Ho) or lamellar perovskite type, e.g. Sr-La-Cu-O type, a rare earth element is partially replaced with one or more of Al, In and Ga. The rare earth element is defined in a broad sense and includes Sc, Y and La type. The amount of one or more of Al, In and Ga replaced is preferably >=0.01mol. Since superconductive characteristics are reduced when the replaced amount is too large, <=80mol.% replacement is practical. |
