PURPOSE:To ensure stable flight of ink droplets and avoid wasting of an ink, by printing after jetting an ink toward a gutter provided on the front side of nozzles of a printing head when a printing-starting signal is supplied. CONSTITUTION:When an operation is started and a head motor 12 is rotated, a printing request flag is outputted from a microprocessor 22, and the starting of a paper-feeding motor 17 is requested. It is judged whether an index signal outputted from an encoder 20 is detected by a position detector 21, and when the index signal is detected by the detector 21, a nozzle corresponding to the position of a gutter 28 is detected, and an ink is jetted from the nozzle disposed on the front side of the gutter 28. This operation is conducted for all of nozzles. Thereafter, the motor 17 started to move a paper 3 in the axial direction of a rotary shaft 12a of a printing head 11, thereby setting the paper to a printing position, and printing on the paper 3 is started. |
