PURPOSE:To improve write efficiency and to improve an S/N at the time of readout, by performing write on a recording magnetic film by a first wavelength with reflectance smaller to a reflection preventing film, and performing the readout from the recording magnetic film by a second wavelength with the reflectance larger to the reflection preventing film. CONSTITUTION:The reflection preventing film 2 is provided on a substrate 1, and the recording magnetic film 3 is provided on the reflection preventing film 2. And the write is performed on the recording magnetic film 3 by the first wavelength with the reflectance smaller to the reflection preventing film 2, and the readout is performed from the recording magnetic film 3 by the second wavelength with the reflectance larger to the reflection preventing film 2. In such a way, the write efficiency can be increased, and also, sufficient reflected light strength and a high S/N can be obtained at the time of the readout. Furthermore, the lowering of recording sensitivity according to the rise of the Curie temperature of a medium can be compensated by increasing the write efficiency, and the S/N can be improved further by the attainment of low reflectance by the increase of laser beam strength for the readout.
