Friction clutch

A friction clutch is used for the frictional connection of an input shaft (10) to an output shaft (20). Connected to the input shaft (10) is a first clutch element having a first clutch face (12). Connected to the output shaft (20) is a second clutch element having a second clutch face (23). Arranged between the clutch faces (12, 23) is a friction element (30). An actuating element (40, 41) is used to press the clutch elements together in the closed condition of the friction clutch. In order to obtain better distribution of the frictional heat and a smaller overall size while at the same time increasing the operational reliability and service life of the friction clutch, the friction element (30) is arranged loosely between the clutch faces (12, 23) in the disengaged condition of the friction clutch (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
