PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptive member for electrophotography exhibiting extremely superior electrical, optical and photoconductive characteristics, image characteristics, durability and characteristics in service environment by providing a specified layered structure. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptive layer 102 on an Al-based support 101 is composed of a lower layer 103 made of an inorg. material contg. at least Al, Si and H atoms. as constituents and having a part contg. Al, Si and H atoms. distributed ununiformly in the thickness direction and an upper layer 104 made of an Si-based non-single crystalline material contg. H and/or halogen (X) atoms. and further contg. atoms (M) which control the conductivity of the material in a layered region kept in contact with the lower layer 103. The resulting photoreceptive member exhibits extremely superior electrical, optical and photoconductive characteristics, durability and characteristics in service environment. |
