EXAMPLE:(3S, 4R)-3-[ (R)-1-tert-butyldimethylsilyloxyethyl ]-4-[[ (S)-1-( p- nitrobenzyloxycarbonyl )pyrrolidin-3-ylthio ]carbonylmethyl ]-2-azetidinone. USE:A synthetic intermediate for carbapenem derivatives capable of exhibiting powerful antimicrobial activity. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II (R<6> is a leaving group and lower acyloxy, arylcarbonyloxy, etc.) is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III (R<7>-R<9> are methyl, ethyl, phenyl, etc.) in the presence of a catalyst (e.g. trimethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate) to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I. |
