APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING FLUIDIZING MEDIUM AND INCOMBUSTIBLE RESIDUE : An apparatus for separating fluidizing medium and incombustible residue from the mixture thereof derived from a reactor of fluidizing bed type adapted to incinerate municipal refuse without pre-shredding or crushing the same. The apparatus primarily comprises a screw conveyor adapted to receive the mixture from the reactor and at the terminal end portion of the screw conveyor in the advancing direction, a cylindrical sieve is connected to the screw so that relatively large constituents of the incombustible residue are discharged at an end opening of the cylindrical sieve while the fluidizing medium and small constituents of incombustible residue may pass through perforations of the cylindrical wall of the sieve.
