The present invention relates to a mechanism for displaying the phases of the moon on a watch. This mechanism includes a disc 10 carrying representations of the moon during the various phases of its cycle. This disc is driven by a star 13 with fifty-nine teeth which is itself set moving in the direction of the arrow A by two tips 19 and 20 fixed to the free ends of two elastic arms 16 and 17 actuated in the direction of the double arrow B by an eccentric 14. This mechanism enables the phases of a lunar cycle to be displayed relatively accurately. <IMAGE>
