PURPOSE:To reduce a time and labor required for a centering operation, by constructing a centering apparatus in such a manner that pressing blocks operating in linkage to a position-detecting device are provided on guide rails arranged equally in four places. CONSTITUTION:When a start button is pushed, a pressing block 24 moves back to a prescribed position. This process is implemented for the pressing block 24 in four places, and thereby each pressing block 24 is disposed at an equal distance from the center A of a turn table 6 highly precisely. Thereafter a rotary body 18 is set on the turn table 6 and the pressing block 24 is made to advance by a prescribed amount toward the center A. The rotary body 18 pressed by the pressing block 24 is disposed concentrically to the center A with high precision.
