PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reliable floating magnetic head which is free from torsional moment applied to a support spring, by attaching the support spring in the rotary tangent direction of a magnetic disk and at the same time forming a surface opposite to the surface of the disk into a convex surface having a prescribed curvature radius. CONSTITUTION:Gap water 4 is supplied between a convex surface 1a of a magnetic head 1 and the surface 3 of a magnetic disk. When the disk is rotated in an adsorption state produced, the head 1 is gradually removed from the surface 3 at its left end and with small torque of the revolution along the surface 1a since this surface 1a of the head 1 is opposite to the surface 3. While a support spring 2 is attached in the rotary tangent direction of the magnetic disk. Thus the spring 2 produces no torsional moment by the torque received by the head 1.
